Nocturnal Records’ Demo Policy
All music should be sent here:
Nocturnal Records
PO Box 414
Mandeville, Louisiana 70471
The music should be on cdr format. We don't have a minidisc player and are not ready to search your website to hear MP3s and suchlike. So, the surest way of being heard is the old-fashioned method.
Please listen to our current roster to give you a glimpse of what we are into. Translation, if you your thing is electronica, R ’n B, reggae, free form jazz, that is cool and while we may totally dig it personally, it is likely not something we are gonna release.
The packaging doesn't matter as long as the music is audible and it comes with the following information:
Nocturnal Records listens to absolutely all tunes sent its way! However, please do not call us or barrage us with email -- we are a small label and it takes some time to give the demos an honest listen. Rest assured if we love the music we will be in touch!
Also, if you happen to be performing in New Orleans, Chicago or LA drop, shoot us an email and we will try to check out the live act!
Unfortunately, we are unable to return any demos submitted to us, so please don’t ask.
Wanna get your music out to the masses while maintaining total control of your music? Let Nocturnal help.
In an effort to help musicians get the exposure they deserve, Nocturnal Records is currently offering a Digital Distribution deal. Click here to print for our standard agreement.

In the mid '90s, Gene Joanen set out to change the world through music. He, along with Dave Fortman, created Balance Recording Studio. Not content to sit back and let others decide which music to release, Joanen decided he needed to start a label. From this, Nocturnal Records was born.
Nocturnal Records has worked with Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne, Superjoint Ritual), Daniel Rey (the Ramones, Misfits, Murphey’s Law), J. Yuenger (White Zombie, Fu Manchu), and Pepper Keenan (Corrosion of Conformity, Down) to produce some amazing music from bands like Suplecs and Fall From Eden.
Having weathered all that Hurricanes Katrina and Rita could muster, Nocturnal has come out swinging with its latest band, Terra Diablo.
